MORE ABOUT JORDANA’S BACKGROUND:
I have worked on the frontlines with communities, individuals, and agencies in New York City and currently, in the Bay Area where I provide both individual and group therapy. My background is eclectic, including work in community organizing and racial justice, restorative justice, attachment-oriented, trauma-responsive care, youth development, crisis intervention and harm reduction, grief and loss, addiction counseling, burnout, adult and adolescent inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, short and long-term care for aging and older adults, and creative arts therapies.
My counseling experience includes Lincoln Families (Oakland. CA), The San Francisco Center for Jewish Living (San Francisco, CA), Humanest Care (Berkeley, CA), California Institute of Integral Studies (San Francisco, CA), The Weill Cornell New York Presbyterian Psychiatric Hospital (New York, NY), as well as facilitation and mental health consultation and management for agencies such as The Door A Center for Alternatives (New York, NY), The Leadership Program (New York, NY), and Children’s Aid Society (New York, NY) and more.
I am a registered AMFT #125349 (Associate Marriage and Family Therapist) and PRDT #17 (Provisional Registered Drama Therapist).
I am passionate about supporting people facing burnout, compassion fatigue, and/or vicarious trauma. I have been honored to provide professionals, essential, and frontline workers a space to develop self-care practices and training in mediation and restorative techniques.
I am committed to equity and racial justice. I have worked with partners to develop affinity spaces to support white identifying people in learning and processing the history and context of racial injustice as a means to bring forth positive social action and awareness of biases, privilege, and intersectionality.
I am a singer-songwriter and trained in movement-based performance, yoga, and mediation.
